MartinScott Announces Free NotesMail to Pager/Cell Phone Connectivity |
January 5, 1999
McLean, Virginia
MSC announced the upcoming release of WirelessMail for Notes, a product to allow Notes mail users to automatically have copies of important Notes Mail messages forwarded to any internet email enabled cell phone or pager service. WirelessMail allows customization of the forwarding rules based on message subject, sender, date, and time. Additionally, the product strips out mail header info, and converts common words to abbreviations to save space in the limited text buffer of a cell phone or pager. The product can also parse a long message into multiple smaller messages.
Version 1.0 of the utility will be available for free download from http://www.MartinScott.com in February 1999. It requires a pager, cell phone, or other mobile device that supports text messaging via internet email (Skytel, AT&T, etc.), and an email account based on a Lotus Notes/Domino mail server, version 4.5 or later.
