Working with Access Control Lists (ACLs)

Compare two ACLs
When you're testing a database in one environment (e.g. a production environment), certain security features may work differently than in another copy (e.g., a test environment). This can be due to an ACL difference that you are not aware of. To find out if any differences exist between two ACLs of databases A and B, use this easy feature:
  1. Open Database A
  2. Launch NoteMan.ACLTools icon
  3. Optionally, use the Settings button to specify preferences regarding level of detail and color formatting
  4. Click the ACL Compare tab
  5. Click the right Database button and choose Database B
  6. Click the Compare Database ACLs button.

  7. All differences will be displayed in a document that you can forward, copy, or discard when done.
